Dormer loft conversion · Liverpool · 2024
A Victorian terrace loft that added a bedroom and a bathroom
The situation before
A couple in a Victorian terrace in a Liverpool suburb, needing a guest room and a second bathroom but with no garden to spare.
What triggered it
“Is it even worth it? We weren't sure the loft was tall enough to bother.”
How we challenged the brief
We ran a head-height check before they spent anything. It was tight but workable — and we designed the stairs first, because that's what makes or breaks a terrace loft.
The design solution
A rear dormer with a compact but comfortable double bedroom, a family bathroom, and a staircase threaded neatly above the existing one.
+1 bed, +1 bath
A genuine extra bedroom and bathroom that meet building regulations — adding flexibility and value without touching the garden.
“They checked it would actually work before we spent a penny. That honesty is why we trusted them.”
